The exhibition tells the birth of Renaissance in Florence from 1200 AD forward, through different sections that show the evolution of the art of sculpture during this exceptional period. The various sections of the exhibition tell the beginning of the Renaissance, the rich Republican Age with the birth of the great public monuments, the hold of the sculpture of the statues on Renaissance painting, the reworking of the classic myths within the sculpture, the application of Brunelleschi’s perspective in the sculpture, the great sacred sculpture of Churches and finally the sculpture inserted into the mansions of the great private patrons, of which Strozzi Palace is an important example. Artists like Ghiberti, Brunelleschi, Donatello, Michelozzo, and many more are on display on this special occasion.
